Heaven, Today

Oh Lord, You have searched me and You know me
Where can I run from Your Spirit?
Where can I flea from Your Presence?
You are all around me – surrounding
You know all my ways
I can go nowhere

Eyes oh Eyes of the Lord
Running swiftly to and fro throughout the earth
Looking for a heart that is fully Yours
Pour grace upon this one
To walk with You in truth

The task at hand is more than I can bear
I look to You
The past tries to weigh down like a millstone
I look to You
The present has only light for the next step
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet
Here is a light for my path
I look to You

Great and marvelous
Wonderful and fabulous
Spectacular and splendid
Breathtaking and brilliant
Magnificent and incredible
Grand and superb
You Are

You who hold the universe, even all of man
Everything upheld by the power of Your Word
How am I not more enthralled by You?
Why am I not thrust to the ground by the sheer weight of You?
Release revelation!

How do You hold seven stars in Your hand?
How do You walk among the seven lamp stands?
How do You live in me?
I want to be a man obsessed by the knowledge of You

Thank You for Your Spirit
Asking today for a greater measure
A baptism in the knowledge of You
Afresh

Afresh and anew, today and tomorrow
This morning and in the middle of the night
Again, and once more
Baptized in who You are
Immersed, deeper, into another measure
More now

Release Your Glory
Standing before Holiness
Believing that You hear these prayers
In faith, in the Throne Room
Contending for revival

The dreams of Your heart for this city
Your Word spoken – in our day
Come to pass
Disease can not stand
Want must make way
Nothing is impossible for You!

Stir up hunger for Your Name today
Standing, Believing, Crying out
Even for reverence for who You are
Break into hearts, into lives
Break in with life and hope
Will You display Your Power in our midst?
You, who surely will come?

Ready, hungry, earnestly desiring more
Stretch forth Your hand
Release healing

It keeps coming back to Your Glory
How do I miss it so quickly?
How do I keep making other things primary?
It is so much less complicated
It is so much easier than I have made it

Life, hours, days, it really is just about
Knowing You, looking to You, loving You
Then all else falls into place…
So many other things simply fall away

Being caught up
Enthralled, enraptured, even on earth
Even today, even at this very moment
Looking to the Lord, the Most High

Here is love, here is life
Here is direction, here is hope
In this One’s Presence
There is found the fullness of joy
Heaven is only Heaven because God is there
He is what makes Heaven so

Why then, could we not have Heaven here?
If it is about being in His Presence
If it is about turning to Your Word
If it is about letting our hearts be loved by God
Immortal, Divine, Omni, Merciful, Just, True!
