Oh Divine Dance

Eternal glory
Eternal love
No rust can steal
No army destroy
I am looking to another land
I am waiting for another kingdom
I have set my eyes on things above
No longer bound to the fleeting glitter of this rock

Excitement overtakes me
Anticipation overwhelms
I am passing through this life
These 100 years are but a vapor
Eternity is my home
Heaven is where I will finally rest

And so I take up strength for the work today
For one day there will no longer be separation
One day, we will see the King face to face
It is to that day I look
It is for that hour I live
It is for that moment I breathe

These troubles of today, they are light, momentary
When compared with eternal fascination of the One
Then we will know love
Then we will know peace
Then we will exult with a very mighty throng

And so today, I lift up my standard
In the morning, I put on my armor in preparation
I live on offense, happening to life
Not going through motions, not just “making it through”
I take my mantle to more than conquer
I rise to my place, and walk in authority
Unashamed as it comes from the Lamb
Here is my exceeding great reward

I can hear the paw prints of the Lion
Dancing, padding, all around His beloved in joy
A dance of jealousy
A dance of love
Ancient steps and yet new
How He dances and sings over us
The light stuns me, music takes me
My heart leaps
The pace quickens and I am caught
The rhythm catches and I
I give in to this Divine dance
Solemn, merry, light and deep

Here then is the culmination
The apex from antiquity to eternity
To be with the King, near Him, where He is
